Join Our Client as an Senior Accountant!


Are you a seasoned accounting expert looking to further your career in property management? Our client is a well-established NYC property management firm, boasting a dedicated team of 100 professionals, about 130 buildings and over 30k units, and is seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join their ranks.


Primary Duties:

·  Financial Reporting: Compile and assess monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure precision and adherence to GAAP.

·  Budgeting & Forecasting: Aid in the creation and tracking of budgets and forecasts. Evaluate variances and provide actionable recommendations.

·  Account Reconciliation: Supervise the reconciliation of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other financial records for designated residential properties.

·  Internal Controls: Establish and uphold strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure precise financial reporting.

·  Audit Support: Assist with both external and internal audits by supplying necessary documentation and clarifications.

·  Team Leadership: Guide and mentor junior accounting personnel, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

·  Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal standards by examining current and new legislation.


Additional Specific Duties:

·  Financial Management: Senior Accountant in the financial administration of a specific portfolio of residential properties, ensuring accurate records for refundable deposits and capital contributions.

·  Journal Entries: Record journal entries, including bank transfers, interest income, and expense reclassifications.

·  Variance Analysis: Compare actual vs. budget performance variances and facilitate necessary cash transfers.

·  Annual Budgeting: Assist in the annual budget preparation, present budgets at board meetings, and manage the year-end closing process.

·  Audit Management: Assist in the annual audit for the portfolio.


Qualifications:

·   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).

·    Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in Real Estate Property Management.

·    Experience with annual budget preperation.
·   Familiarity with asset management, cash flow management, and financial reporting for residential properties.

·   Outstanding organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

·   Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

·   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet research.

·   Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with employees and clients at all levels.


Recommended:

·   Proficiency with Yardi software is a plus.

·   Ability to listen, communicate (both written and verbal), and follow up effectively with all levels within the organization and clients.

·   Capability to perform accurately in a high-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Compensation:

·   $110,000 - $120,000 annual salary
